ShootNotes

ShootNotes is an online service that connects models and photographers. Photographers can post their requirements for the photo shoots they are doing and the model can review them. On the other hand, models post their profiles which include their employment experience and modeling styles.

Online Identity Issues

ShootNotes encountered two issues with regards to online trust. First, and most importantly, was the issue of knowing that the person you're talking to really is who they say they are. Second, photographers needed a way to verify the models age to ensure that they are either 18 or 21, depending on the state. After working with Trufina, ShootNotes also found that having a verified location attached to their profiles also facilitated in locating suitable matches between photographers and models thereby reducing any fraudulent activities.

Identity Solution

Using the Trufina ID Server API, ShootNotes can now securely verify the name, date of birth, and location of their models and photographers. Once verified, the user's ShootNotes data badge is updated with a Trufina seal, demonstrating that this user has verified their identity. Users can elect to add their real name and location to their data badge, or they can choose to keep that information private and simply represent that it has been verified. This demonstrates a concept that Trufina and ShootNotes takes very seriously: your privacy is yours to control at all times.

Outcome

Now, when a model and photographer schedule a shoot or make contact, both can choose to provide the other with their verified identification, privately and confidentially within the system. No more guesswork!

Photographers can now verify (or ask for verification!) a model's date of birth. The days of being surprised that a model is underage are over.

Models can now be assured they are dealing with a real person. The days of a model not really knowing who a photographer is are over.
