Building reputations on the world wide web

Trustplus is all about building a reputation layer for the internet by providing users with a way to monitor trust and reputation across all online interactions and transactions.

Trustplus gathers information about a person's reputation in the real world and combines it with data accumulated through the unique scenarios and interchanges that only exist online. The Trustplus reputation engine connects people with their friends, their friend's friends and so on, creating direct and indirect connections between every person on the web.

Online Identity Issues

The Trustplus service involves heavy interactions among consumers and businesses. All these interactions were conducted on the basis of a consumer's or a business's reputation. Hence, Trustplus required a identity verification and background check system that would attest the reputation of a consumer. So, along with providing a reputation to the consumer, Trustplus aimed at verifying the identity behind the reputation.

Identity Solution

Trufina partnered with Trustplus to provide their consumers with an identity verification and background service in order to strengthen their online reputation. Every consumer has to pass through the strongest test of credentials in order to be verified, and to strengthen their reputation further (or for more reputation points), they can also opt for a comprehensive background check. The background check would not ask for any additional information from the consumer and will be updated into the consumer's profile directly within a few days. Hence, using the Trufina ID Server API, Trustplus were able to verify their consumers is who they say they are, and the consumers in turn that they possess a clean background.

Outcome

Partnering with Trufina helped the objectives of Trustplus, and also its consumers. With a positive identity verification through Trufina, Trustplus was able to maintain a high reputation within its Trust Circle of users, while its consumers were able to gain additional reputation points using the identity verification and/or background check services.
